The founder of Extraordinary Conceptions understands the absolute joy a Surrogate gives when she carries and gives birth to the Future Parents’ child because her twins were born through surrogacy after an 8-year struggle with infertility. Surrogacy is a wonderful option for those couples and individuals unable to conceive on their own. Even unmarried men and women or gay and lesbian couples are finding they too can be parents through the assistance of an egg donor and surrogate. Our staff, led by Stephanie Caballero, Esq. understands and appreciates the desire you have to create or extend your family. As the founder and Director of Extraordinary Conceptions, Stephanie’s experience in the field of infertility, ovum donation and surrogacy proves invaluable to you, the Intended Parents.
The most common type of surrogacy is Gestational, where the eggs are harvested from the Intended Mother or an egg donor, are fertilized with the prospective father’s sperm or a sperm donor, and then transferred to the surrogate’s womb.
Less common is Traditional Surrogacy, where the Surrogate uses her own eggs and is most likely artificially inseminated with the prospective father’s sperm.
Extraordinary Conceptions is here to help facilitate communications between the Intended Parents and the Surrogate regarding all the arrangements, including financial. Our Surrogates are intensively screened and educated about the process. An investigation of the surrogate’s background, including her spouse or partner, if applicable, is done. Each surrogate is interviewed by a psychologist who provides a report of her support system, family structure, mental/emotional state and ability to fulfill her role as a surrogate. This first meeting lays the groundwork for their relationship. During the process the psychologist will provide support and help the surrogate to deal with any difficulties.
California provides one of the most favorable legal climates for surrogacy and egg donation arrangements, which is one reason clients from around the world undergo their procedures in California. Located in San Diego, California, Extraordinary Conceptions works closely with California attorneys who are experienced in handling surrogacy and egg donation arrangements. These attorneys frequently represent clients who reside in other states, as well as foreign countries, and will assist intended parents throughout the surrogacy process - from contract drafting to establishing parental rights.
For the majority of Extraordinary Conceptions’ clients who deliver in California, pre-birth parental judgments offer the opportunity for Future Parents to be named parents of their offspring born through surrogacy prior to the birth. These judgments direct the hospital to place the named parents or parent on the original birth certificates and are available to clients regardless of where they live in the U.S. or the world, as long as the child is born in California.
Extraordinary Conceptions will be there to assist and lead you through the process. We look forward to providing opportunities for parents to see their dreams come true.
