Victoria, Australia Angers Christian Community by Legalizing Surrogacy for Gays and Lesbians

Gay and lesbians can now use a surrogate to create their own family in Victoria, Australia. Previously, women had to demonstrate a medical need to utilize fertility treatments, but with the passage of the law, lesbian and single women can now receive treatment, including IVF and surrogacy.

Gay men can also now utilize a surrogate without going to another country and unlike Canada and other countries, it appears that surrogates can be paid for their services.

The passage of the law has caused quite an uproar within the Christian community, similar to California’s Proposition 8 and the ban on same-sex marriage.  See the following link for the complete article on surrogacy in Victoria, Australia http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuId=2&ContentID=111758

    YAY!!!

I may be gay, does not mean i have no rights to become a parent and provide security and a loving home to a child.

All i need now is to find a surrogate will to help me in my dream.
